What are 1300 numbers?

An inbound number is a cost effective way of showing callers you’re more than just a small local business. 1300, 1800, and 13 numbers are virtual phone numbers that allow businesses to answer incoming calls on any existing Australian number they have such as a landline, mobile, VoIP or others.

1300 numbers project a smart professional image for your business. What’s more, as your business grows you’ll never need to change your number when you move locations.

13, 1300, & 1800 numbers are the main Australian based Inbound Numbers, giving your audience a clear and easy way to contact your organization. You can also use inbound numbers to track the success and Return On Investment of your marketing activities. See who responds to each of your campaigns as well as when, where, and how through inbound call reports.

1300 numbers also give you more control via call routing, and other features that help manage your business communications.

1300 Number FAQ's

What's the difference between the 3 prices?

Other companies have complicated pricing structures. We like to keep things simple.
Each option provides the same great service & call quality. Your choice should be based on the number of calls you expect to recieve. If you’re unsure, we recommend calling us to discuss your particular needs so we can tailor something for you.

Can I switch my current 1300 service to IP HUB?

Absolutely. We often help people who have been with another carrier or using a bundled service.  Once they see the price comparison, many want to move across and we’re more than happy to help them do so quickly and easily with ZERO downtime.

Why do IP HUB's 1300-numbers COST LESS than everyone else?

IP HUB specializes in 1300 inbound services. We have special deals in place with all the major carriers as well as unique infrastrutre that allows us to deliver services very low cost and we pass these savings onto you. Our systems are Tier One, so you never compromise on quailty either!

What are inbound number types?

An inbound number, also known as a virtual number or toll free number, are phone numbers used to forward a call from a caller to a termination point (your phone).  Inbound numbers have no infrastructure or physical cabling requirements. They are virtual and piggy-back on existing landlines and mobile networks around Australia.

There are three types of inbound numbers in Australia,:

  • 1800 Numbers – 1800 followed with a 6 digit number, e.g. 1800 555 888
  • 1300 Numbers – 1300 followed with a 6 digit number, e.g. 1300 555 888
  • 13 Numbers – have 13 followed by a 4 digit number p, e.g. 13 45 56

We point your chosen inbound number to your landline or mobile, so there’s no down time if you are transferring your current 1300 numbers.

How does a 1300 number work?

Inbound numbers can be used anywhere in Australia, regardless of geography. Calls to these numbers are directed to a ‘Standard Fixed Line Number’, for example 02 9898 5656, or a Mobile Service Number (MSN), for example 0448 001 004. The number where calls are sent and answered are called the Answer Points.

When a call is made to a 1800, 1300 or 13 number, the call enters the network and finds the relevant routing information for that inbound number and the call proceeds to its destination. This all happens in milliseconds, so the person dialing doesn’t experience any delay.

It is important to understand that you can’t make outgoing calls from an inbound 1300 number, as the number does not have a physical location.

How long does this take to get up and running with my 1300 number?

For most connections where the calls will be answered on your landline or mobile it only takes 1 business day. Any features you need can be added to your service later on.
